My Story

Here at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital we are really excited that building work has started on our new Cardiology Day Case Unit.

The patients that we currently treat come from across Mid, East and North Devon for a wide range of cardiac treatments and investigations such as angiography, pacemakers and ablations.  We recognise that this can be a stressful time for our patients and our aim is to help make this process as comfortable as possible for them.  We are speaking to patients, relatives and staff about the items we want to purchase and, so far, we have had the suggestions of a coffee machine and ongoing supplies, artwork for the waiting room and seated recovery area and subscriptions to magazines and newspapers.  To ensure that we can purchase all of these items we have revised our target from £5,000 to £10,000.

Following our walk from Barnstaple to Exeter in September we recently held a cake sale and raised £258.05!!

Our next event is a sea dip on 27th January 2024 at 1100 hours on Exmouth beach.  No wet suits allowed and fancy dress encouraged!

If anyone would like to find out more about our charity events or would like to donate any items that may support us please do contact either Sarah Dale, Clinical Matron for Cardiology, or James Chapman, Clinical Nurse Manager.

Thank you from all of Team Cardiology.
